Seasonal Anime Reviews: Spring 2024

Here it is!

Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai

hananoi to koi no yamai

I took a chance on this to support the efforts of adapting more shoujo romance manga, you don’t see a lot of it these days. My interest was also piqued by the protagonist’s cute eyebrows, so I thought I would give it a shot. Unfortunately, it was not that great. In addition to uninteresting characters and premise, the art and animation dwindled at moments. The trope in modern shoujo romance where the male love interest goes from long haired, interesting, donning piercings to a normie guy with a korean bowl cut needs to be studied. What are they communicating? Change for the one you love? I am not sure. I think the premise of showing how a one-sided relationship develops and pans out could be done interesting, however that is not the case here.

Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included

studio aprttment

An angel descends into a studio apartment of a highschool boy and becomes a housewife, he also meets other supernatural girls. This is not bad, not good, just so-so.

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2

Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy Season 2

Tsukimichi objectively should be treated as character-less, seasonal, isekai slop by me, but I find a charm in it. It does not know where it is going with the plot and it does not care. The characters are charming enough, even if most of their designs are bland. The opening for this season suited the anime very well. Pleasant show to have playing on my TV screen.
