Vinland Saga Season 2

Vinland saga season two continues into this season, the protagonist is no longer a slave, but a pacifist instead. I enjoyed the last episode, as I’m looking forward to more seasons, now that the slave arc is over. I enjoyed the last episode.

FINAL RATING: 7/10

Heavenly Delusion

Bullshit experimental anime of the season (negative), reminds me of wonder egg priority somehow. It seems there are two stories being followed. One shows a school setting, filled with genderless, emotionless, naive children. They appear to be in this facility to be protected by the outside world, something similar to the promised neverland. The other story follows two kids navigating through some kind of post-apocalyptic world, filled with monsters. Maybe it isn’t that bad, but it hasn’t really hooked me, the ending was intriguing though.

FINAL RATING: 7/10

Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru

Yamada, of title fame, is much like Red from Pokemon. Cold (double entendre here for Red), emotionless, short of words, and they even look alike. The show stars a college student, who, after breaking up with her boyfriend, finds herself in a new social circle with a pro-gamer and his childhood friends. A good shoujo romance anime.

FINAL RATING: 9/10

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear Punch!

Kuma Kuma bear returns for it’s usual antics. By this time, I have completely forgotten it is technically isekai, as the protagonist has adapted to the fantasy setting so well and she has no desire to go back to the real world, a trend in modern isekai. I think while watching this, I realized this is probably a kids show, huh? Usual Kuma Kuma Bear antics.

FINAL RATING: 6/10

Tokyo Mew Mew New Season 2

The continuation of Tokyo mew mew new. Having watched the original, in three part episodes on youtube back in the day, and reading it a billion times, I wasn’t shocked by anything happening in this, so there were no surprises. It’s an OK adaptation of tokyo mew mew, I prefer the original, or the manga. Felt kinda bland, especially with the generic art style, replacing the original, iconic, over-the-top shoujo manga style. Really appreciated them playing the original anime opening at the last episode, though.

FINAL RATING: 6/10

Yuusha Ga Shinda

A friend of mine also watched this, because she enjoyed the opening theme. This was a good time. While I do not care for the characters, the show was an entertaining enough watch.

Tonikaku Kawaii 2nd Season

Tonikawa Kawaii continues, here lies the wedding ceremony arc. Begrudgingly watched this, but yeah it was just Tonikawa Kawaii.

The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses

I already wrote extensively about the first episode and the premise of this show, which you can read about here, but wow, did this end up being so much more than a Love Hina rip off. I really enjoyed it, and the attempts at character arcs were appreciated, and not seen in a lot of harem anime in recent years (lol). While it was still somewhat lacking and sub par in those ways, I really enjoyed it. Good opening theme song, as well.

FINAL RATING: 8/10

Mahou Shoujo Magical Destroyers

Experimental bullshit anime of the season (positive). I believe I seen some of the creator’s art prior to the airing of this show. A really fun time to watch otaku oppression and rebellion, really fun(ny) watch.

Edomae Elf

Reminds me of Kai Byou Ramune. Also, it is a curious thing, these anime featuring lessons on Japanese history, is there such a demand for this educational content in anime in Japan? Cute enough.

Oshi No Ko

When I first saw this listed, months before airing, on myanimelist, upon reading the synopsis, I was beyond concerned. A doctor becomes the gynecologist of an idol member he’s a big fan of. Wtf? I thought. I told a friend, who then immediately told me to look beyond that, that she had read the manga, and it was great. I hunkered down for the hour-long first episode premiere, and oh boy, was it worth it. I really enjoyed the first episode. As the show leaned more into idol-school territory, I lost interest, but I believe once the focus is put more on investigating, it will be a great time. The show is extremely popular, and for good reason. It has it’s own fancy image hashtag on twitter

It got to the front cover of a popular, Japanese fashion magazine, spur, as well.

Excited to see where the story continues.

Kubo-san wa Mob wo Yurusanai

Finally back to airing, Kubo-san returns. One of those shy boy, not shy girl, anime that has become a staple of each season, by now. It was a show, got better as it went on.
